La Banda Sinfonica dell’Umbria nasce nel febbraio 2012 dall’idea del Direttore Musicale M° Paolo Venturi.
La Banda prende spunto strutturalmente dalle grandi bande da concerto che, dalla seconda metà del 1800 a tutto il secolo scorso, sono state un punto di riferimento per tutte le professionalità specifiche del settore insieme a quelle puramente dilettantistiche ed amatoriali e quindi fonte di espressione alternativa alle strutture professionali (orchestre sinfoniche ecc.).
Ciò nonostante, il grado di preparazione e di qualità espressi dalle suddette strutture era di altissimo livello che, insieme ad una grande facilità di spostamento e di fruizione, hanno assunto in quel periodo una grande importanza di riferimento musicale per tutte le grandi e piccole realtà locali.
A tutt’oggi sono pochissime le Bande Sinfoniche di questo tipo e le piccole Bande musicali sono ormai condannate, per vari motivi, ad una lenta ma costante scomparsa.
Ad operare sul territorio sono oggi soprattutto le grandi Bande Militari rappresentative dei vari corpi d’armata.
La Banda Sinfonica dell’Umbria si vuole inserire e quindi ridare vita alle grandi Bande Musicali del passato, integrando al repertorio classico quello originale moderno.
La Banda Sinfonica dell’Umbria ha come priorità quella di coinvolgere tutti i musicisti del territorio diplomati nei locali Conservatori Briccialdi e Morlacchi insieme ai giovani studenti delle due principali strutture della Regione e a tutti quei musicisti dilettanti con un ottimo grado di preparazione strumentale, per dare loro una opportunità in più di espressione rispetto alle pochissime che offre oggi la situazione musicale italiana.
La banda Sinfonica dell’Umbria è a tutt’oggi costituita da musicisti la quasi totalità dei quali è diplomata.
Le due priorità che il Direttore Musicale ha posto come condizioni imprescindibili sono:
· “Fare Musica con entusiasmo”;
· “Perseguire da subito un ottimo livello musicale”.
Il repertorio che la Banda andrà pian piano a consolidare sarà strutturato tenendo conto di due linee guida: una che farà riferimento a tutta la musica che va dalla fine del 1800 alla metà del 1900 quindi con le grandi trascrizioni d’opera, soprattutto italiana, passando per le varie sinfonie d’opera e tutto quel settore delle grandi “Marce Sinfoniche e Caratteristiche” che sono le fondamenta culturali di questo genere di organico. L’altra linea sarà quella di integrare il repertorio con la musica originale e trascrizioni moderne sempre per grande organico strumentale.
Numerosi concerti tenuti hanno posto la BSU in rilievo per l’ottimo livello artistico espresso.
The Umbria Symphonic Band was founded in February 2012 from an idea of the Music Director Maestro Paolo Venturi.
The band takes inspiration by the big band concert structurally that the second half of 1800 to the last century, have been a point of reference for all the professional industry-specific as well as those purely amateur and then a source of expression as an alternative to professional structures (symphony orchestras, etc.)
This despite, the degree of preparation and quality expressed by these structures was of the highest level, along with a great ease of movement and fruition, have assumed great importance in that period of musical reference on all big and small local communities.
Untill now there are very few Symphonic Bands of this type, and small bands are now condemned for various reasons, a slow but steady disappearance.
To operate in the territory of today are mainly the large Military Bands representing various corps.
The Umbria Symphonic Band want to insert, and then restore life to the great musical bands of the past, and to integrate the original modern classical repertoire.
The Umbria Symphonic Band has as a priority that of involving all the musicians of the territory high school graduates in the local conservatories Briccialdi and Morlacchi together with young students of the two principal structures of the region and all those amateur musicians with a very good degree of instrumental preparation and to give them an opportunity of expression in more compared to the very few that offers today the situation of Italian music.
The Umbria Symphonic Band is still today constituted by musicians almost all of which is graduated.
The two priorities that the music director has placed as indispensable conditions are:
"Making Music with enthusiasm"
"Pursuing from the start a great musical level"
The repertoire that the band will go slowly consolidate will be structured keeping in mind two guidelines: one that will refer to all the music that goes from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s and then with the great transcriptions of opera, mainly Italian, passing through the various symphonies, opera and all that the sector of large "Symphonic Marches and Characteristics" that are the cultural foundations of this type of organic.The other line will be to integrate the repertoire with original music and modern transcriptions always for a large instrumental organic.
Many concerts held have placed BSU in relief for the 'great artistic level expressed.
